Since 1996 Myles Curtis has been the Managing Director of Securency Pty Ltd, a joint venture company based in Melbourne, Australia established between the Reserve Bank of Australia and Innovia Films a UK based company.

Securency has developed a range of polymer substrates for high document security applications. These enable central banks and other government authorities involved in the issue of banknotes and other security products to address the challenges they are continually facing, especially the increasing threat of counterfeiting. Securency’s unique polymer substrate used for the production of banknotes is called Guardian®.

The Guardian® substrate for polymer notes is a unique Australian technology and the benefits are now enjoyed in over 20 countries on all continents, including Mexico, Romania, New Zealand, and Vietnam.
